Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the 1600 block of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>K Street, NE on October 1, 2009.
On Thursday, October 1, 2009, at approximately 5:25 pm, officers assigned to the Fifth District responded to the 1600 block of K Street, NE to investigate the sound of gunfire detected by ShotSpotter*. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified as 30-year-old Andre Pate of the 6600 block of Ronald Road in Suitland, Maryland. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
