Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?>Stevens Road, SE. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>
At approximately 12:25 am on Monday, February 1, 2010, officers from the Seventh District responded to the 1300 block of Stevens Road, SE, to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male in the alley rear of that location suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported by personnel from the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department to an area hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
The victim in this case has been identified as 27-year-old Lamare Larkins of the 3000 block of Stanton Road, SE.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
