Arrests Made in Multiple Robbery Offenses

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division announced several arrests in recent robbery cases in Washington, DC.

 

First District:

 

· On Monday, February 25, 2019, a 15-year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Friday, February 15, 2019, in the 700 block of 9th Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-027-301

o At approximately 5:15 pm, two suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and took his property. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.

 

Second District:

 

· On Saturday, February 22, 2019, 27 year-old Kibruysfa Aklilu Degefa, and 26-year-old Antench Simie, both of Alexandria, VA, were arrested for an Assault with Intent to Rob offense that occurred on Friday, February 22, 2019, in the 1100 block of 23rd Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-031-577

o At approximately 11:29 pm, two suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspects were apprehended by responding officers.

 

Third District:

 

· On Saturday, February 23, 2019, a 17 year-old juvenile male, of Lanham, MD, was arrested for a Robbery (Snatch) offense that occurred on Saturday, February 23, 2019, in the 700 block of Florida Avenue, Northwest. CCN: 19-031-650

o At approximately 2:30 am, two suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects took property from the victim then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.

 

· On Sunday, February 24, 2019, 21 year-old Amala Nixon, of Lanham, MD, was arrested for a Robbery (Pickpocket) offense that occurred on Saturday, February 23, 2019, in the 2000 block of 14th Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-032-149

o At approximately 11:23 pm, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect took property from the victim, assaulted the victim, and then fled the scene.

 

· On Monday, February 25, 2019, a 14 year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Monday, February 25, 2019, in the 3600 block of 16th Street, Northwest. CCN: 19-033-250

o At approximately 9:27 pm, two suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.

 

Fourth District

 

· On Sunday, February 24, 2019, 51 year-old Marloe Johnson, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for an Attempt to Commit Robbery offense that occurred on Sunday, February 24, 2019, in the 5300 block of Georgia Avenue, Northeast. CCN: 19-032-281

o At approximately 5:00 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim and attempted to take the victim’s property. The suspect then fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.

 

Fifth District:

 

· On Thursday, February 28, 2019, 28-year-old Shawnice Reed, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, in the 1200 block of Saratoga Avenue, Northeast. CCN: 19-034-385

o At approximately 6:23 pm, the suspect and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation at the listed location. During the altercation, the suspect assaulted and pepper sprayed the victim. The suspect took property from the victim then fled the scene.

 

· On Friday, March 1, 2019, 32-year-old George Ellison, of Southeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Friday, March 1, 2019, in the 1800 block of Kendall Street, Northeast. CCN: 19-035-173

o At approximately 2:33 am, the suspect approached the victim at the listed location. The suspect assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspect then fled the scene. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.

 

Sixth District:

 

· On Saturday, February 23, 2019, 31-year-old Robert Valentine, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Saturday, February 23, 2019, in the 500 block of Eastern Avenue, Northeast. CCN: 19-031-700

o At approximately 4:29 am, two suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun, demanded property, and shot at the victim. The suspects took property from the victim and then fled the scene. One of the suspects was apprehended by responding officers. This case remains under investigation.

 

Seventh District:

 

· On Wednesday, February 27, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, a 17-year-old juvenile male, of Northeast, DC, was arrested for a Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Wednesday, January 30, 3019, in the 2400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Southeast. CCN: 19-017-210

o At approximately 10:16 am, a group of suspects approached the victim at the listed location. The suspects assaulted the victim and took the victim’s property. The suspects then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.

 

· On Wednesday, February 27, 2019, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 26-year-old Roberto Gonzalez, of Temple Hills, MD, was arrested for an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that occurred on Saturday, January 5, 2019, in the 4700 block of South Capitol Terrace, Southwest. CCN: 19-003-012

o At approximately 3:35 pm, two suspects approached the victim at the listed location. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and demanded property. The suspects took property from the victim and then fled the scene. This case remains under investigation.
