Arrest Made in Homicide in the 2400 block of Hartford Street, SE

A suspect has been charged with murder.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 2400 block of Hartford Street, SE.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>

 

On Sunday, September 12, 2010 shortly after 1 am, officers from the Seventh District responded to the 2400 block of Hartford Street, SE for the report of a shooting. Upon arriving, they discovered a victim lying on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and transported the victim to a local area hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

 

Preliminary investigation revealed that the decedent and a subject were involved in an altercation and this same subject apparently had been shot as well. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had arrived at a local area hospital with a gunshot wound.

 

The victim has been identified as 31 year-old Laroy Bryant of Hartford Street, SE. The suspect has been identified as 36 year-old Katrell Austin Henry of Southeast, Washington, DC.

 

Mr. Henry was arrested and charged with first degree murder while armed.
