Arrest Made in an Assault on a Police Officer and Robbery (Force and Violence) Offense: 700 Block of 7th Street, Northwest

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's First District announce an arrest has been made in an Assault on a Police Officer and Robbery (Force and Violence) offense that occurred on Monday, April 3, 2023, in the 700 block of 7^th Street, Northwest.

At approximately 2:26 am, the suspect threw a bottle at a uniformed MPD officer at the listed location. The suspect then fled the scene and approached the victim. The suspect forcibly took the victim’s property then continued to flee. The suspect was apprehended by responding officers.

On Monday, April 3, 2023, 36-year-old Jamel De Ron Brown, of Capitol Heights, MD, was arrested and charged with Assault on a Police Officer and Robbery (Force and Violence).
