Arrest Made in 1993 Murder Case

A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a 1993 murder case.

The Metropolitan Police Department has announced that an arrest has been made in the murder of LeCedric Gaino, which occurred on <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /?><?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = U1 /?>11th Street, NW in June of 1993.  On Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at approximately 5:45 am, members of the department’s Warrant Squad arrested 35-year-old Jobe Toby pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant charging him with Murder in the First Degree in connection with the death of Mr. Gaino.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /?>

Shortly after 9 pm on Saturday, June 5, 1993, officers assigned to the Fourth District responded to the 3500 block of 11th Street, NW to investigate the report of a shooting.  Upon arrival, they located LeCedric Gaino suffering from gunshot wounds to the head. Mr. Gaino was transported to the WashingtonHospitalCenter where he was pronounced dead.
