The Metropolitan Police Department’s Harbor Patrol Unit wants boaters to respect the water and to practice important safety measures. In particular, boaters should know that boating under the influence is strictly prohibited on DC’s waterways. Boat owners and gusts are also reminded of the critical importance of personal flotation devices—or PFDs, for short. The following information should help ensure that everyone can safely and responsibly enjoy time on the water.
