Professional Development Bureau - Continuing Studies Branch, Metropolitan Police Academy
Introduction: The Continuing Studies Branch (CSB) is responsible to develop and provide professional development education for all MPD members. This includes executive-level training, annual In-Service training, Daily Roll Call Training, seminar development and management for special topics, and other missions as assigned by the Director, MPA.

Applicants are strongly urged to have their own mode of transportation, even though the Academy is accessible by Metrobus and Metrorail.
Schedule: The office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. through 4:00 P.M.

Program Description: The Intern will perform research and administrative duties generally. The Intern will review and advise CSB Director of accuracy of regular training attendance data, conduct open source research for grant-funded training support, and research and recommend educational themes for topics that affect MPD. The Intern is expected to perform the same basic administrative functions expected of all members of CSB, regardless of rank, which includes but is not limited to monitoring visitors, answering telephone, or making copies of material related to the CSB mission. After training, the Intern will, with minimal supervision but with the technical assistance of sworn members, draft Daily Roll Call Training scenarios for publication and use throughout MPD. The Intern will conduct research on topics developed within MPD and assigned by the CSB Director to form the basis for additional training.
