The District's Taxicab Commission (DCTC) provides the citizens of DC and its visitors a safe, comfortable, efficient and affordable taxicab experience by licensing and regulating taxis and limos operating within the District. If you have questions about taxis, please contact DCTC directly.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) protects District residents from crime, fear of crime, and general disorder and establishes trust and respect within the community. MPD also enforces parking and vehicular traffic by issuing parking and moving violation tickets. Additionally, MPD manages the District’s photo radar and enforcement program.
