Popemobile Routes for Pope Benedict XVI Announced
 Pope Benedict XVI will visit Washington April 15–18, 2008, and will travel along several routes in the District allowing opportunities for public viewing.
On April 16, the Popemobile motorcade will travel west along Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House to the papal residence on Observatory Circle. The motorcade will depart at approximately 12 Noon. The route is identified at right. Please note that no pedestrian access will be allowed on Washington Circle. (See map below.)
Later that same day, from approximately 5:20 pm to 5:25 pm, the Popemobile motorcade will travel north along 4th Street, NE, from the US Conference of Catholic Bishops to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Please note that the west side of 4th Street will be available for public viewing.
