Second District Commander's Letter I have been a resident of DC and a member of the Metropolitan Police Department for the past 25 years.  As a resident of Ward 5, with a son at Gonzaga College High School, I have a strong commitment to the District of Columbia, both personally and professionally. During my career with the MPD, I have served in a variety of assignments. Most recently, I spent the past two years as Inspector in the First District, where, in 2010, we were recipients of the Crime Reduction Award. Before that, I was Inspector in the School Security Division, Captain in the Fourth District, and a Captain in the Internal Affairs Division. In my career, I have worked in the First, Third, Fourth, Fifth and Seventh Police Districts, as well as the Criminal Investigations Division. I plan on taking the lessons I’ve learned in my past positions to provide professional and dedicated services to the residents of the Second District.
