PSA 701

  • The northwestern border begins just west of the Officer Kevin Welsh Memorial Bridge, on the eastern coastline of the Anacostia River, into the northeastern portion of the National Capital Park.
  • Follow the eastern coastline of the Anacostia River to the end of the 11th Street Bridge/I-395.
  • South on I-395 to 13th Street, SE.
  • South on 13th Street, SE/I-395 to Good Hope Road, SE.
  • East and south on Good Hope Road, SE to 25th Street, SE.
  • South on 25th Street, SE to Ainger Place, SE.
  • North and west on Ainger Place, SE to Bruce Place, SE.
  • South on Bruce Place, SE, following the eastern boundary of Fort Stanton Park to Suitland Pkwy SE.
  • West on Suitland Parkway, SE to Sheridan Road, SE.
  • North on Sheridan Road, SE to 15th Place, SE.
  • North on 15th Place, SE to Gainesville Street, SE.
  • East on Gainesville Street, SE to 16th Street, SE.
  • North on 16th Street, SE to Morris Road, SE.

  • The northernmost point begins at 25th Street, SE/Good Hope Road SE and runs south on Good Hope Road, SE to Naylor Road, SE.
  • South and east on Naylor Road, SE to the DC/Prince George’s County, Md., boundary.
  • South along the DC boundary to Suitland Parkway, SE.
  • West on Suitland Parkway, SE, heading north around Fort Stanton Park to Bruce Place, SE.
  • North on Bruce Place, SE to Ainger Place, SE.
  • South and east on Ainger Place, SE to 25th Street, SE.
  • North on 25th Street, SE back to start.

PSA 703

  • The northernmost tip begins where the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge (South Capitol Street) hits the southern side of the Anacostia River, and runs north along the River’s shoreline to the middle of the National Capital Park, just east of the Metro railroad tracks.
  • South through the Park (around the National Capitol Parks East Headquarters) (in between Talbert Street, SE and Chicago Street, SE) to Morris Road, SE.
  • South on Morris Road to 16th Street, SE.
  • South on 16th Street, SE to Gainesville Street, SE.
  • Jog west on Gainesville Street, SE to 15th Place, SE.
  • South on 15th Place, SE to Suitland Parkway, SE.
  • West on Suitland Parkway, SE to the middle of the eastern boundary of St. Elizabeths Hospital grounds, just south of Elvans Road, SE.
  • South along the eastern boundary of St. Elizabeths Hospital to Robinson Place, SE (around the southern edge of the grounds).
  • South on Robinson Place, SE, heading east and south around the grounds of the Hebrew and Adas Israel Temples to Congress Street, SE.
  • West on Congress Street, SE to Congress Place, SE.
  • South on Congress Place, SE to Alabama Avenue, SE.
  • West on Alabama Avenue, SE to the western boundary of St. Elizabeths Hospital grounds (east of 8th Street, SE).
  • North along the southwestern boundary of St. Elizabeths Hospital to Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE.
  • North on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE, following the boundary of St. Elizabeths hospital grounds west and north (also borders the eastern edge of Shepherd Pkwy) to just east of the 2nd Street, SE circle.
  • South towards and on 2nd Street, SE to where it starts to head east (just north of Malcolm X Avenue, SE).
    Head west instead to I-295.
  • Follow I-295 north to the Suitland Parkway, SE.
  • West on Suitland Parkway, SE to South Capitol St.
  • North on South Capitol Street back to start.
  • And north toward and to Luke Avenue, SW.

PSA 704

  • The northwestern border begins where the middle of the eastern boundary of St. Elizabeths Hospital grounds (just south of Elvans Road, SE) meets Suitland Parkway, SE, and runs east on Suitland Parkway, SE to the DC/Prince George’s County, Md., boundary.
  • South along the DC boundary to the southern edge of the Metro railroad tracks.
  • North thru Oxon Run Pkwy toward and to 15th Street, SE.
  • North on 15th Street, SE to Alabama Avenue, SE.
  • West on Alabama Avenue, SE to Congress Place, SE.
  • North on Congress Place, SE to Congress Street, SE.
  • East on Congress Street, SE, around the grounds of the Hebrew and Adas Israel Temples to Robinson Place, SE.
  • North on Robinson Place, SE to its end, along the eastern boundary of St. Elizabeths Hospital grounds, back to start.

PSA 705

  • The northwestern border begins at I-295, just west of 2nd Street, SE and just north of Malcolm X Avenue, SE.
  • East toward, and then north on, 2nd Street, SE to the eastern edge of Shepherd Pkwy, following the western boundary of St. Elizabeths Hospital south and east to Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE.
  • South on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE, continuing to follow the southwestern boundary of St. Elizabeths Hospital grounds to Alabama Avenue, SE.
  • East on Alabama Avenue, SE to 15th Street, SE.
  • South on 15th Street, SE past its end (at Mississippi Avenue, SE) to the water line in Oxon Run Pkwy.
    Follow the water line west to Atlantic Street, SE.
  • West on Atlantic Street, SE to South Capitol Street.
  • North on South Capitol Sreet to the intersection of South Capitol Sreet/Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE/Halley Place, SE.
  • Straight west along the boundary of Shepherd Parkway and north to I-295.
  • North along I-295 back to start.

PSA 706

  • The northwestern border begins at I-295, just east and south of Rice Street, SW, and heads straight south and then east toward the intersection of South Capitol Sreet/Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE/Halley Place, SE.
  • South on South Capitol Street to Atlantic Street, SE.
  • East on Atlantic Street, SE to the water line in Oxon Run Pkwy.
  • Follow the water line east to just southeast of the extension 15th Street, SE, to the DC/Prince George’s County, Md., boundary.
  • South along the DC boundary, across the Potomac River, to the southern point of the District/the start of I-295.
  • North on I-295 back to start.

PSA 707

  • The northwestern corner begins at a point on the DC/Arlington Co., Va., border that is parallel to the southern tip of Haines Point, and travels west across the Potomac River to the DC shoreline.
  • Follow the DC shoreline north and east to the southern border of the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge (South Capitol Sreet).
  • South on South Capitol Street to Suitland Parkway, SE.
  • South on Suitland Parkway, SE to I-295.
  • South on I-295 to its end in the District of Columbia, then follow the DC boundary south to the tip.
  • North along the boundary of DC/Arlington County, Va., back to start.

All Rock Creek borders conform to existing MPDC district boundaries (in other words, the boundaries still follow the actual Creek).
These text descriptions should be considered more definitive than the actual map “pictures,” which may be vague in some areas.
