Assistant Chief Winston Robinson Jr. (Retired) Professional Development Bureau
Assistant Chief Winston Robinson Jr. has been a member of the Metropolitan Police Department since 1970, after serving in the United States Army. A native Washingtonian, Robinson has attended George Washington University, the University of the District of Columbia, and American University.
During his career with the MPDC, Assistant Chief Robinson has served in a variety of assignments, including Director of Personnel Liaison, Director of the Medical Services Division, Director of Court Liaison and various supervisory positions in patrol services. That experience prepared him for the position of Commander of the Seventh Police District, a position he held for more than a decade.
On January 13, 2004, Robinson was promoted to Assistant Chief in Charge of ROC-East. In July 2004, he was assigned to serve as Assistant Chief in the Operational Support Command. In the September 2007 reorganization of the MPD, Operational Support Command was renamed the Investigative Services Bureau.
On November 9, 2008, Assistant Chief Robinson took command of the Professional Development Bureau. Robinson retired from the Metropolitan Police Department in 2009. |
