Assistant Chief Alfred Broadbent
Assistant Chief Broadbent served the MPDC in a variety of position over his 26 years with the agency, including Assistant Chief in charge of the Special Services Command. As an Assistant Chief, he served previously as director of the Maurice T. Turner Jr., Institute of Police Science, where he oversaw the re-engineering of the Department’s training function, including the development of new curricula for recruits, experienced officers and police executives. In 1998, he was promoted to Assistant Chief in charge of the Department’s former Patrol Services Bureau, after having served for three years as the Commander of the First Police District. Assistant Chief Broadbent holds a master’s degree from The Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he was an All-American soccer player. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Alfred Broadbent retired from the Metropolitan Police Department in July 2004. |
